What we collect, and why.

Trace Media is a two-person B2B video company. This page says plainly what happens to information when you visit tracemedia.io or book a call. No dark patterns, no data sales.

The short version

We never sell or rent your information. We use analytics to see which pages and videos do their job, a scheduler to book calls, and a business-contact service that tells us which companies are researching us. If you would rather not be part of any of that, email fred@tracemedia.io and we will remove you and suppress future collection. One person reads that inbox.

Information you give us

If you fill in the booking form or book a call, we collect your name, work email, phone number (optional), what your company sells, whether you run video today, a budget range, and anything you type in the message box. If you tick the SMS boxes, we take that as your consent to text you — booking-related messages, and marketing messages only if you ticked the second box. You can reply STOP at any time.

We use it to prepare for the call, run your numbers before we speak, and follow up. It reaches the two of us through our own internal Slack and Telegram notifications. That is the whole audience.

Who processes information for us

ServiceWhat it does
Google AnalyticsSite analytics — pages, scroll depth, clicks
CalendlyScheduling. Anything you enter on their booking page is also governed by their privacy policy
CloudflareHosting and delivery of this site, plus the service that routes form submissions to us

Each of these processes information on our behalf under their own terms. We do not pay for, or accept, data about you from anyone else.

Cookies

This site uses analytics cookies only — no advertising cookies and no cross-site ad tracking. Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time, and Google publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics everywhere.

How to opt out, see, or delete your information

Email fred@tracemedia.io and say what you want. We will: tell you what we hold, correct it, delete it, or suppress your details from visitor identification — whichever you ask for. We aim to answer within a few business days, and we will not ask you to justify the request.

If you are in California, this covers your rights to know, delete, and opt out of sharing. We do not sell personal information as that term is defined under the CCPA. If you are in the UK or EU, we handle requests under the GDPR on the same basis, and our lawful basis for the business-contact processing described above is legitimate interest, which you can object to using the same email.

Marketing email and text messages

Any promotional email we send carries a one-click unsubscribe link and our mailing address, and we honor opt-outs promptly — that is both the law (CAN-SPAM) and how we prefer to work. You can also just email fred@tracemedia.io and we will stop. For text messages, reply STOP to any message and they stop.

Booking confirmations, reminders, and direct replies to something you sent us are not marketing — you asked to talk to us — but you can opt out of those too by telling us.

How long we keep it

Booking and enquiry details are kept for as long as we are talking, or might reasonably talk, about working together — and are deleted on request. Analytics data follows Google Analytics retention settings.

Other things worth saying

This site is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. We are based in Boston, Massachusetts, and information is processed in the United States. If we change this page we will update the date at the top.
